The Green Bond: Reliance & Samsung’s $3B Clean Energy Bet

Reliance Industries has entered into a binding 15-year agreement valued at over $3 billion with Samsung C&T Corporation for the supply of green ammonia, marking one of the world’s largest long-term offtake deals for the clean fuel.

Under the pact, Reliance will commence supplies to Samsung C&T from the second half of FY2029. The company noted that the agreement ranks among the largest binding long-term green ammonia offtake contracts globally, highlighting rising international demand for low-carbon energy solutions.

The deal also reinforces India’s ambition to position itself as a key exporter of green energy, as industries worldwide accelerate their transition to cleaner fuels.

Reliance added that this partnership is likely to be the first in a series of long-term offtake agreements to support the growth of its new energy business. The company has been making significant investments in renewable energy and green hydrogen as part of its strategy to build a robust clean energy portfolio.
